I suffer from sleep paralysis. Most often it is the usual pattern, waking up in the middle of the night unable to move my body. Sometimes seeing black shadowpeople or hands coming out of a wall. Sometimes hearing mumbles or weird noises. However it always keeps the distance. It never get close. Until my most terrifying sleep paralysis.
That night I slowly became aware of being awake. It was a weird feeling as my dreams melted into thoughts and I knew I was no longer sleeping. When I turned for the nightlight I realized my body didn’t move an inch. I was completely paralyzed. Not even my eyes would open.
Usually I can reason with my mind during sleep paralysis and wait it out, but this night it was different. I don’t know what it was that made my senses tense up. I got a gut feeling that I was not alone. I felt the fight or flight-system in my body but I couldn’t move an inch. Everything screamed “red alert”.
Then the most terrifying thing happened. Someone was leaning their body over me. I tried to listen for noises but could hear no sound at all from the intruder. No breathing, no movement, not a single tiny thing. But I felt it. There was no doubt someone stood leaning over me. You know when you stand so close to someone you almost touch but what you feel is only some kind of energy between you? That was it. The skin on my upper body got goosebumps. I desperately tried forcing my eyes open, but they didn’t respond.
Suddenly I felt a breeze on my face. It was steady stream of air blowing, almost artificial. There was the faint sound of wheezing. My mind immediately thought of anesthesia or some kind of drug administered through air. What if there really was someone that broke in and now tried to subdue me and rob me, or even worse kidnap or kill me?
When I thought it couldn’t get worse it did. The feeling of someone leaning over me changed. It moved back as if to gather itself, then I felt a huge weight falling on my body. It was like someone threw themselves on me with full force. At the same time I started falling backwards and felt a jolt as I landed in my own body. I heard a screaming voice in my head. “WAKE UP!“ All my senses were back to normal and my eyes immediately shot open.
Then I noticed that somehow my bedside light was already turned on….

Voices in your ears as if someone where right beside you. Weight on the bed, feeling something sitting next to or on you. Feel free to reach out to me would love to discuss. My handle is Grimreefer
