Heads up, a new nighttime spectacular will be arriving at Disney World soon! Kicking off their 50th-anniversary celebration is the new show, Disney Enchantment.
Interestingly, the new attraction was kept tightly under wraps. Many were anticipating the Harmonious fireworks show in the EPCOT park, which was announced months earlier. To everyone’s surprise, the Magic Kingdom park will also be having a fireworks display in the form of Disney Enchantment.
Read on for more details about the brand-new attraction.
Be Enchanted
Disney Enchantment is said to be a nighttime show like no other. It will feature awe-inspiring fireworks, music, and enhanced lighting.
But its most show-stopping aspect is the immersive projection effects that will extend from Cinderella Castle to the length of Main Street. As of now, several projectors have been installed on the windows along the street.
Disney Enchantment will premiere at Magic Kingdom starting October 1st and will run for 18 months.
Happily Never After?
This news also had many Disney World fans wondering about the fate of Magic Kingdom’s staple nighttime show Happily Ever After.
First launched in 2017, the crowd-pleaser featured pyrotechnics, laser lights, and projection mapping as classic Disney hits like Part of Your World and Hakuna Matata played.
All fireworks shows were suspended due to the pandemic, but will soon return this July. However, it’s very likely that Happily Ever After will be replaced by Disney Enchantment. Only time will tell if the show will make a comeback after the 50th-anniversary celebrations.
Coming Soon to Disney World
A new fireworks show isn’t all the Disney World guests are getting once the anniversary celebrations kick-off. Beloved Micky Mouse and other mascots will be returning to host The World’s Most Magical Celebration and will be leading the Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade.
50 new Disney character sculptures will also be placed throughout the parks. Finally, Disney Kitetails will be coming to the river amphitheater at Magic Kingdom. The daytime segment will feature large and vibrant kites of Disney characters like Simba floating over the water.
As October 1 comes closer, more and more exciting details about the anniversary celebrations will be revealed. For sure, we’re in for quite the ride!
