Disneyland Resort to Reopen on June 15 with New Regulations
The long wait is over for all Disney fans out there! Disneyland is finally reopening to all non-California residents on June 15. State COVID regulations are currently limiting park capacity to 25% but will finally be dissolved on the 15th, hence the park reopening on the same date.
Excited? Here’s a handy guide to planning your Disneyland trip!
The comeback
Guests will need to book both a theme park reservation and a ticket for the same day per person, with the booking window for reservations now expanded to 120 days. Although it is not required in California, Disneyland will be enforcing face coverings and temperature screenings for guests inside the park. There will also be no vaccination requirement once the park reopens, but Disneyland Resort officials have emphasized that the state of California “strongly recommends” that guests be fully-vaccinated or test negative for COVID-19 before journeying to the park.
Although the reopening is a massive step forward, things aren’t all the way back to normal yet. Some attractions, amenities, and passes may be closed or limited in order to monitor attendance as well as follow new health protocols. However, some locations will be made available to the public soon with reduced capacity, such as the Paradise Pier Hotel (which will open on June 15) and the Disneyland Hotel (which will tentatively open on July 2). You may check available dates for reservation and purchase tickets at Disneyland.com.
Halloween on the horizon?
With the park reopening this June, it’s only a matter of time before the spooky season rolls around and the highly-anticipated Disneyland Halloween events make their comebacks too. Walt Disney World’s Boo Bash will take the place of the classic Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party in the Florida park—complete with a Main Street redecoration, complimentary snacks, and a Halloween cavalcade.
Meanwhile, the Disneyland Resort has been keeping their Halloween plans tightly under wraps for now. The Oogie Boogie Bash is the annual after-hours ticketed event party held in their Disney California Adventure park. It features a dazzling Halloween Screams fireworks show, a DescenDance party, a Frightfully Fun Parade, and appearances from The Nightmare Before Christmas’ Oogie Boogie and Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Hatter.
While there are still no updates on Disneyland’s Halloween season events, we are sure that the park has a Halloween spook-tacular awaiting all of us once September starts.
