The Beetle House in NYC

I had recently went to the Beetle House in New York City located in 308 E 6th Street in the Village. This is truly what they call a hole in the wall kind of place. Reservations book relatively fast so its a good idea to plan a visit ahead of time. Currently, there are two locations of The Beetle House located in New York City and Los Angeles.
You are greeted with a big hanging jack skeleton-like head hanging from the wall followed by the bar area on your left. The venue is extremely narrow and can only seat a limited amount of people. The room is decorated with Tim Burton art and other creepy decorations. The atmosphere is dark with purple and red lighting. Occasionally, Edward Scissorhand, Beetlejuice or Sweeney Todd will appear and pay you a visit. The theme is not overly done and still looks trendy and tasteful. Your seating is a little cramped but the service is very good and makes for an intimate environment if you want to spend a nice night out with your partner.
The atmosphere of The Beetle House was very intimate. The characters, decor and the purple neon lighting lived up to its expectation of making the restaurant a true Tim Burton themed restaurant. The only cons I would say is that the physical space for the restaurant was very small and in that way, you felt a little cramped. The food itself, was very good but a little pricey. The Beetle House is a nice place to go for a special night out or perhaps a place to go every one in a while. When I first arrived, most people just liked to hang out at the bar. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant and it make for an entertaining night.
