Universal Studios to Hire 2000 Workers as Parks Open
With details surfacing regarding the removal of capacity limits and physical distancing protocols for all kinds of businesses and organizations in California, Universal Studios Hollywood is looking to ride the wave of the announcement and run operations at full capacity as soon as possible.
As a result of this announcement, Universal is now looking for 2,000 employees to work in the prestigious theme park based in Hollywood, California.
When will Universal Studios Allow Full Capacity?
Universal Studios Hollywood targets June 15 as the beginning of full capacity operations, which is also the target date disclosed ahead of time by Governor Gavin Newsom to allow businesses and organizations to plan ahead of time.
The current limit is set as 35% capacity, so major preparations must be made to accommodate almost thrice the number of visitors, especially as we are approaching the summer cycle.
What to Expect?
Aside from long lines and busier attractions, expect the experience to be as magical as before, as Universal Studios plans to bring back the energy and vibrance of theme parks as it once was before COVID-19.
What Roles and Job Opportunities are Available?
A significant portion of the roles that need to be filled include the following:
Production Assistants
Show Controllers
Guest Relations
Wardrobe Assistants
Parking and Food
There are also traditional departments that have vacancies, including:
Finance
Sales and Marketing
Human Resources
Engineering
Environmental Health and Safety
***It should also be noted that those interested in auditioning for Halloween Horror Nights may see more opportunities in that area as well***
Are the Positions Full-time?
Full-time positions are available, but applicants who are more interested in part-time or project-based career opportunities would be pleased to know that seasonal and part-time positions are available.
Practically all career opportunities offered are good additions to anyone’s work portfolio, so if you are truly interested in the field of entertainment and theme parks, this may be your chance to shine.
How About Salary?
The salaries, wages, and incentives for each position have not been disclosed to the public, but Universal Studios assures all applicants that its offers are very competitive.
To add to this, Universal Studios has also announced a raise in the minimum wage to $15 per hour to be executed later in the month.
This minimum wage increase ramps up the pressure for its competitors to follow suit and is a vote of confidence in the ability of all of its workers to make the theme park experience enjoyable and worthwhile.
Health and Safety Precautions
Despite the plans to enter full-scale operations, Universal Studios still plans to observe health and safety standards above and beyond that which is mandated by law.
There have been no hard guidelines or rulesets posted as of writing, but expect Universal to release an announcement regarding safety practices and requirements while in the theme park premises.
