Universal Teases Realistic Animatronics for Upcoming VelociCoaster Attraction
The Jurassic World VelociCoaster will soon be in operation. Universal has made sure to make theme park goers know that this is an attraction that should not be missed.
With all the interest, horror, and intrigue over the super realistic dinosaurs in the recent Jurassic World installments, you are assured a great time and memorable experience with this fresh new ride.
When Will the VelociCoaster be in Operation?
Universal Studios Orlando has officially announced that the VelociCoaster will be in operation on the 10th of June, 2021.
In an Instagram post, Universal showed off a short clip of one of their Raptor animatronics, and it looks as real as it can get.
Where do I Fall in Line?
The entrance (and queue) for the VelociCoaster will be situated in front of the Discovery Center, on the side that faces the front of the theme park.
You would easily spot the entrance to the attraction as signages and statues have already been installed since February.
Who Made the VelociCoaster?
The design and construction of the VelociCoaster is largely attributed to Intamin Amusement Rides, a worldwide leading manufacturer of all kinds of attractions and amusement rise.
This is not the first time Intamin will be collaborating with Universal. The company also helped install Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts in 2014 and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure in 2019.
Safety and Technical Aspects
Construction of the attraction is in its final phases and there seems to be no issues or concerns regarding the target timeline of operation.
For safety, the VelociCoaster will have a lab bar installed (as opposed to an over-the-shoulder restraint).
There are reportedly two launches per ride, with the first launch accelerating guests up to 50 miles per hour and the second launching guests up to 40 miles per hour.
The ride will also feature a dozen airtime moments and a barrel roll over the lagoon, so expect this ride to be one of the craziest and scariest attractions thus far.
