Synopsis
A group of friends take a trip into the woods to look for various specimens and to explore the grounds. But what they find are tentacle like parasites which inhabit the human body and turns them into butt attacking zombies. The group must then try to survive this epidemic of infectious parasites. One girl by the name of Megumi, who is haunted by her past, may have in fact have the key to surviving these attacks.
Gore Factor
There is a lot of bathroom humor as the title would suggest. Many of the scenes are simply disgusting as they depict not only quite a bit of excretion but also blood and gore. In one scene, after eating a tape worm, a woman has an alien-like specimen come out of her butt. There are other scenes that are of a similar nature as well. However, there is also a good share of bloodshed in this film, especially towards the end of the film.
The Grave Review
Let’s be clear from the start, the title of the movie is exactly what this film is about. The film takes a traditional “infectious disease turning zombie” plot and turns it into crap, literally. The best way to sum up this film is a tremendous amount of bathroom humor and gore. In this film, the parasites which are referred to as Nekurogedorop infect those and cause their victims to fart creating a parasite-like tentacle to come out of their butts. There is one scene where a woman is trying to go to the bathroom in a solid 30 second moment. As such, here is your disclaimer: if you get squeezy with excretion, perhaps this is not the film for you.
Much of this film resembles something from a Hentai film. For those who are unfamiliar, Hentai is Japanese cartoon pornography. The tentacle like parasites are heavily used in Hentai films and the writers of this film may have tried to portray just that which they did successfully. But what this did was create less of a traditional zombie film and more of a movie with an abundance of unnecessary and highly graphic sexual acts.
As stated above, much of the comedic humor comes from bathroom humor. For example, in one scene, Megumi uses the parasite as a fart jetpack. There is no question that this film is absolutely ridiculous in every way imaginable. Zombie Ass tries really hard to be a comedy but relies heavily on shock value, outrageous ideas and concoctions. Unfortunately, it may not be as funny to some people as others. Sometimes, the title of the film is misleading but not in this case. You will get exactly what the title says. This is truly a film that went down the toilet. Although, I will give the creators credit for being original and completely outrageous despite the grotesque nature of the film.
