Epic Mickey

1. Epic Mickey (2010)
We all grew up with Disney in some shape or form. For those who have been to Disneyland in California or Walt Disney World in Florida, we all know the iconic Magic Kingdom, home to Main Street USA and Cinderella’s (or Sleeping Beauty’s) castle. Some of the most iconic rides are “It’s a Small World”, “Haunted Mansion”, and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
When Epic Mickey came out for the Nintendo Wii and other consoles, everyone was so excited. It depicts Main Street and all the beloved characters we grew to love. In the game, you play as Mickey Mouse who commands a magic paintbrush and your goal is to restore the world to its colorful happy state.
However, there is one scene that drives home the concept of creepy. You fight against the clock tower in “It’s a Small World”. The combination of the demented face of the clock tower in conjunction with the distorted musical theme from “It’s a Small World” would make anyone uncomfortable. As Mickey uses his paintbrush to dissipate the arms of the clock tower, a metal skeleton of the arms reveals itself to thereafter get smashed into pieces. Although it would seem the point of the game is centered on dark themes, this was one moment in the game that in my opinion really made an impression.
