Transworld Haunted Attraction and Convention Show
I recently went to the 2018 Transworld Haunted Attraction and Convention Show St. Louis, Missouri held at America’s Center Convention Complex. The event lasted was from March 22-25th, 2018. The convention, sponsored by the company, Froggy Fog, housed nearly 300 vendors (288 was my count) and had a wide variety of discussion panels from production, design and planning experts from across the country. From individuals who created home haunted attractions in their backyards to those working at Six Flags, people across the country were at this event to discuss various topics and give useful information.
I had an opportunity to walk around this event and attend various panels. The convention center itself was quite large and some of the vendors needed ample space for their products. It was quite interesting to see the different products that were available at this show. Some products that were there were makeup, body paint, Halloween decorations, animatronics, masks, corpses, props and much more.
It was like going to a toy store for Horror Fans!!!
The convention was mainly geared towards people who either run a haunted attraction, escape room or another area within the haunt industry. However, there were many fans of the horror genre that would also line up and attend the convention. Most of the people who attended were from the Midwest. Coming from New York, it was quite the eye-opener. However, to see the amount of creativity and talent people have in making these products was truly a phenomenal experience. I would absolutely attend next year’s event.
Lastly, I had the opportunity to speak with many of the vendors and get an idea of how long it takes each person to manufacture the products they are selling. In addition, some of them shared their personal background with me and how they came to be in this profession. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be writing reviews on the various vendors that were present and the products that they have to offer. Come join me as I embark on this series!!
