Synopsis
The story follows a family of four, traveling and staying the night at a secluded trailer park. Unbeknownst to them, they are stalked and hunted by the familiar trio that terrorized the families in the first installment.
Gore Factor
The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018) can be better classified within the slasher subgenre. As such, the type of gore and blood will ultimately follow from a traditional stabbing wound of some variation of that. Overall, for the slasher film, The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018) was less focused on the blood element and more centered on the suspense element.
The Grave Review
The story is not overly developed, but the premise of we are going to kill you just because can be appreciated by any horror fan. Many of the scares were anticipated and I cannot say the plot was anything original, but it nonetheless made for an entertaining film. However, during the film, you do start to feel a sense of compassion and support for the family. The villainous trio has previously been in an advantageous position. So, as a viewer, you want to root for the family and hope they make it through alive. Of course, wishes are not always granted.
If you haven’t seen the film, look out for the “pool scene.” Personally, it was the most visually stimulating moment in the entire movie. That in combination with the background music had an unorthodox and fun style. The scenery and the music complimented that particular scene with what was occurring during that time.
For the foregoing reasons, Grave Reviews gives The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018) two and one-half graves out of five graves.
