Which Pennywise do you prefer?
Today, I saw the movie remake “IT.” The original movie which came out in 1990 and starred Tim Curry as the iconic clown villain, Pennywise, is known as one of the most prolific horror films of our time. The 2017 movie remake was about 2 hours and 15 minutes long. If we all remember VHS tapes, the original 1990 movie ran about 3 hours and 15 minutes and it took two VHS tapes to play the whole movie. Yes, we physically had to rewind the tapes.
IT Chapter One (2017) stayed true to the original movie. There are slight differences with Pennywise and how he is portrayed in the remake. Pennywise who is starred by Bill Skarsgard, takes a more demonic take on the villain than Tim Curry did in the 1990 version. Tim Curry depicted Pennywise in a more engaging manner often acting and speaking in a playful way. Some would say Curry had a pedophilia- like behavior. However, Skarsgard takes a more traditional villainous route and his character is not very engaging. Often, the Pennywise here will stare at the characters in a scary way, avoiding any meaningful dialogue that may have an impact on the viewer. It’s a personal choice. Furthermore, both Curry and Skarsgard were good in their own way, but it is for you to decide which Pennywise you like better.
*****SPOILER BELOW******
This movie encompassed the first chapter as the six characters as children. If you haven’t seen the original movie, the movie concludes with Pennywise being defeated by the children. But, the movie isn’t over. Chapter 2 which is scheduled to be released sometime in 2019 will continue with the six children grown up 20 years later.

Overall, the IT Chapter One (2017) was very well done. I would recommend seeing this movie if you’re a fan of the satanic clown.
